Corey concentrates his practice in corporate transactions and governance, representing business owners, entrepreneurs, and companies ranging from startups to longstanding businesses. His practice encompasses business formation, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiation, corporate governance, and general business counseling.

Corey advises clients at every stage of the business lifecycle, from entity formation and organizational structuring to ownership transitions and strategic transactions. Corey regularly drafts and negotiates operating agreements, shareholder agreements, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other commercial contracts that help businesses protect their interests and achieve their long-term objectives. He also represents buyers and sellers in asset and stock purchase transactions and provides guidance on governance, succession planning, and other matters critical to business continuity and growth.

Prior to joining MDKP, Corey practiced with a national law firm’s labor and employment group, where he advised employers on workplace issues and supported the defense of employment-related claims. He continues to counsel employers on employment agreements, workplace policies, restrictive covenant agreements, wage and hour compliance, discrimination and harassment matters, and compliance with state and federal employment laws. His focus on both corporate and employment law results in practical, business-minded counsel on the legal and operational challenges companies encounter.

Corey earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Criminal Justice from SUNY Brockport.

Outside of the office, Corey enjoys golfing, attending concerts, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
